No, it’s not the catalogue for the Canadian Pavilion in Venice, where we all recently saw Mark Lewis. In the middle of Sardinia, there is a contemporary art museum which this spring just happened to be showing Mark Lewis too. I found this out from the catalogue, what a shame. The book is indeed remarkable in its richness, and as far as I’m aware it’s easily the most complete publication on the Canadian artist’s work to date, i.e. movies that investigate cinematic language and film structure. Simply put, if you like Mark Lewis you should buy it.
